About
Our Story
Fish On Adventuring was born from a simple idea: incredible fishing and meaningful human connection belong in the same trip.

After decades working in the guide, wilderness, and therapeutic worlds, founder Zach Weinzetl saw how powerful it is when people step away from daily noise and into wild places with intention. He created Fish On Adventuring to offer anglers, families, veterans, and teams something more than a standard fishing trip—a chance to reset, reconnect, and remember what matters.

Today, Fish On Adventuring curates fly fishing adventures around the world: from redfish in Louisiana marshes and tarpon in Costa Rica to bonefish in the Bahamas and trout in the Rockies and beyond.

Our Mission
We believe fly fishing is more than a sport—it’s a way to connect with nature, ourselves, and each other.

Our mission is to create experiences that change lives:

-
Trips that honor the waters and communities that host us
-
Journeys that are inclusive, accessible, and human-centered
-
Adventures that blend world-class fishing with presence, growth, and joy

Meet Your Host
Zach Weinzetl
Zach is the founder of Fish On Adventuring, a boutique fly fishing travel company offering customized, guided adventures across the globe. Since launching in 2019, he has facilitated life-shaping trips to the Bahamas, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Florida, Montana, Idaho, New Orleans, and beyond—with the philosophy that no destination is too far if the fishing and the experience are right.

With over 25 years in the guide and wilderness industry, Zach brings a deep network of personal relationships with top-tier guides and outfitters. If he doesn’t know a guide personally, chances are he’s one degree removed—ensuring that every trip is hosted with trust, safety, and authenticity.

Before Fish On Adventuring, Zach founded Therapeutic Mentoring Services, working as a professional mentor and therapeutic guide supporting young people and families through major transitions.
He holds a degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University with an emphasis on health, healing, and humanistic psychology, and has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and recovery coaching.

This blend of clinical insight and wilderness leadership allows Zach to meet people where they are—whether they’re seeking adventure, healing, growth, or simply the fish of a lifetime.
He is Wilderness First Responder certified and approaches every trip with a deep respect for safety, stewardship, and play. A Montana native now rooted in Colorado, Zach is also a devoted dad, mountain biker, rock climber, and river rat who loves sharing time on the water with his kids and dog just as much as he does with clients.
Where do you want to go next? Let’s dream it up together.
