Blended Float Trips, High-Alpine Hikes, and Backcountry Camping

Colorado is a place defined by contrast — high deserts rolling into alpine peaks, river canyons slicing through sandstone cliffs, and shimmering lakes tucked into basins carved by glaciers long gone. It’s a landscape that invites exploration, curiosity, and the kind of fishing days that stay with you long after the season turns.

This is a choose-your-own-adventure fishery, where every trip is tailored to your pace, your ambition, and the kind of beauty you want to stand in the middle of.

Whether you’re floating wide Western rivers, hiking into turquoise high-mountain lakes, or camping beside a river that sings you to sleep, Colorado offers an experience as varied and wild as the state itself.

Float Trips — Big Water, Big Views, Wild Trout

Our float trips are built around seasonal conditions, water quality, and the type of experience you’re craving. We choose rivers based on what is fishing best during your preferred dates — ensuring every day on the water is aligned with natural rhythm, not a fixed schedule.

Our primary float fisheries include:

·       The Colorado River – broad, powerful, scenic, legendary

·       The Eagle River – technical, intimate, prolific

·       The Roaring Fork – fast, dynamic, trout-rich, endlessly engaging

Each river offers its own personality, but they share three things: incredible scenery, incredible trout, and the kind of days that reset your internal compass.

Fishing here is never just about the fish. It’s about the canyon walls glowing in evening light, the sound of oars dipping into still water, the rise forms in the shadows, and the sudden electric moment when a trout explodes on a dry fly.

High Alpine Adventures — Colorado’s Native Treasure

For those who want to step deeper into the backcountry, we design custom adventures targeting one of Colorado’s true treasures:the native greenback cutthroat trout, the state fish and a symbol of alpine resilience.

These trips can be structured as:

·       Day hikes to remote high-mountain lakes

·       Multi-lake exploration days covering several basins

·       Overnight backpacking trips into pristine wilderness

·       Multi-day backcountry circuits rooted in solitude and simplicity

The water up high is clear enough to reflect the sky and cold enough to sharpen your senses. Cutthroat move through these lakes like flickers of firelight — orange slashes glowing against emerald bodies. They are rare, beautiful, and deeply rewarding to pursue.

This is fly fishing at its most elemental: quiet, wild, intimate.

Overnight Float Expeditions — The River as Home

For anglers who want complete immersion, we build overnight float trips on the Colorado River — multi-day journeys where the boat becomes your pathway and the riverbank becomes your home.

Evenings unfold beside crackling fires, with meals cooked under open sky and stars that feel impossibly bright. Mornings begin with fog lifting off the river and the steady anticipation of another day drifting through new water.

These trips create a kind of intimacy with the environment that is hard to replicate — the river shapes your days, the canyon shapes your perspective, and the moments in between shape the lasting memory of the experience.

Fully Customizable Colorado Adventures

Every Colorado trip is handcrafted. Your lodging can be rustic, luxurious, or anything in between. Your adventure can be fast-paced, deeply relaxing, or a blend of both.

Whether you want:

·       A multi-day float trip

·       A high-alpine cutthroat expedition

·       A combined hike-float-camp journey

·       A pure exploration of Colorado’s most scenic trout water

…we build it based on your vision and the best conditions Mother Nature offers during your timeframe.

Why Colorado

Because few places offer so many worlds in one trip. Because trout here thrive in some of the most inspiring landscapes on earth. Because adventure can be as simple as a day float or as grand as a week in the wilderness. Because the state invites you to choose your path — and rewards whatever choice you make.

If you’re searching for a destination with endless possibility, profound beauty, and the freedom to design your perfect fishing journey, Colorado is waiting.

"My first trip with Zach was to San Pedro Belize.

We were a group of eight, each from a different place, but all sharing a love of fishing.

Zach is a kind soul with the heart of a teacher, patient and passionate.

Accommodations were fantastic and spacious, and offered contrast to the rustic charm of San Pedro.

The fishing was epic, and after 18 years, I achieved my first inshore Grand Slam.

For that, I am truly grateful."

My second trip with Zach was an amazing adventure to Costa Rica.

To the southern tip, close to the Panamanian border, we eight enjoyed a Tarpon fishery unlike any I have ever experienced.

Awakened to the call of howler monkeys and toucans,  every day seemed to surpass the last.

I have caught Tarpon before, but never in the numbers nor the rapidity. I literally had to take a moment to regain my strength before making another presentation, as every moment the fly was wet was an invitation to another battle.

I landed seven Tarpon that week with a new personal best of 140. That trip will forever live in my dreams.

Thank you truly Zach."
